Berta Zenefels is 84 years old and has never seen the sea. She has hardly ever left her beloved farm, the “Zollhaus” in Bavaria, in whose restaurant she has fried thousands of schnitzels.
A hard life, which no one wants to live anymore.
Berta had to bury her eldest son, husband, grandson and youngest son. Without a successor, the company risks bankruptcy. But her granddaughter Monika, 34 years old, with a university degree and experience abroad, is resisting a fate that seems sealed.
