In Rome, sixteen-year-old Francesca, from a wealthy family, wakes up in the morning and remembers an erotic dream in which Enrico, the thirty-year-old architect and family friend with whom she is in love, appeared. She goes to school and, like every day, is courted by her classmates.
One morning, a meeting with a young ex-lover of her mother’s, who drags the two of them into the living room of a princess who is in love with him, stimulates Francesca’s imagination. That same evening, she goes to see Enrico, who is restoring a villa outside the city, and decides to give in to her feelings. Only later does she finally realise that she has only been a pastime for the architect….
